Episode 33 – Reclaiming Your Self ~ 10/10/21 ~ The Men in our Lives

In today’s world, many women are coming to realize that they have a lot to gain by choosing to engage in their own evolution. Long held in check by cultural conditioning passed down from one generation to the next, women in much greater numbers are choosing to think for themselves and redesign their lives.

As mothers, daughters, sisters and wives, our lives are profoundly touched by the men we love and care about. What about them? How eager and willing are they to reconsider themselves, their world and their way of engaging with us? Join Louise as she explores with one man what it took for him to be willing to dive into the deep end of the pool; and how doing so has changed his life.

In conversation with: Ray Landry – Certified CODE Model Coach™ – is a long-time professional in the field of Addiction Recovery. He’s also a father and loving partner, mindful that his life is his own creation; and that what he creates touches the lives of the people he loves. Contributing author to Guardians of the Vision: Parenting for the Birthright of Potential Ray is open, honest, clear and direct – about himself, his world and how he’s choosing to move through it. Parenting for the Birthright of Potential

Episode 28 – Reclaiming Your Self ~ 10/09/16 ~ Parenting for the Birthright of Potential

One of the most protected ‘sacred cows’ in any culture is that of parenting. When we think of parenting, we are more likely to think about the children than we are to consider the adults who shape their lives. And yet, parenting is the fundamental process that makes it possible for one person to mold and shape the future of another and ultimately, a culture. Are we up for it? Do we really know what we’re doing? And to what degree are we simply repeating what we know… even when what we know has not brought us what we desire?

Join Louise with her guests Anita Allen, Ray Landry and Lucy Hensel for whom the parenting conversation has taken a significant turn! Beyond the notions of ‘command-and-control’; and shifting attention from the children to the adults who shape their lives, this conversation about parenting will challenge the notions of ‘ownership’ and ‘blood lines’; as well as acknowledge that being able to conceive and give birth does not make us a parent.

In conversation with: Anita Allen, mother of three young sons and co-creator of Guardians of the Vision: Parenting for the Birthright of Potential; and two of the contributing authors to this book: Ray Landry, substance abuse counselor and mental health professional; and Lucy Hensel, Grandmother and philanthropist. All three guests are Certified CODE Model Coaches™.

Posted by on December 6, 2009 at 8:34 am

In today’s reality, few are untouched by the experience of depression. If not ourselves, someone we know or work with – and possibly someone we love! – is affected by this potentially devastating and life-altering experience. Depression is a journey through a private hell from which we can only free ourselves.

Ray Landry knows firsthand what depression brings. In this conversation, Ray speaks candidly and openly of his own experience of depression : when it started, where it came from, the toll it exacted in his life – and how he moved on to live a rich and gratifying life! Ray’s story is one of courage and hope. It is also one of curiosity and the great willingness to let go of who he was that he might become who he is today!  [More... ]
