Learning New Lessons

Jean WinterSince writing Transition Points, I’ve been thinking about the lessons which I learned as I grew up and which I believed were absolutely true – lessons which I was taught by my parents, by other authority figures in my life, and which I taught myself as I attempted to make sense of my world and my place in it.

Today, I spoke MY truth to a friend.  And in speaking my truth, I have let go of more of the learned lessons of my youth.  I know that the aspects of others which I am no longer willing to accept are all aspects of me which I am no longer willing to wear and live out as the ‘truth’ of who I am and how I am meant to be in the world.  I am learning new lessons.  [ ... ]

Programmed for ‘Predictable’?

Posted by on July 18, 2012 at 10:10 am

In times like these – times of great and rapid change – what can be counted on are those unpredictable outcomes that follow our moments of great surprise, as we witness that which has been habit transform itself into the unrecognizable.

Louise’s article Programmed for ‘Predictable’  is appearing in today’s edition of  OmPlace/AltWire – Conscious Living and Best Bets From the  Alternative Web.  The invitation is for us to stop… take a breath… and notice how we are living our lives.  Are they of our own creation?  Or do we see the mark of another in what we have come to claim as our own?

Take a moment to reconsider your life and notice how your days unfold.  Pay attention to the three questions at the end of the article and ponder:  ”How else might I choose to live my life, today?”

Thinking About… Habit

Posted by on August 31, 2011 at 6:57 pm

Programmed for Predictable?

A recording by Louise LeBrun; duration = 7:13

We want to think of ourselves as unique and special.  Yet, how much of how we move through our lives has become habituated and repetitive… and worse, completely outside of our awareness?!  Take the time to stop… and pay attention… trusting that no matter what you discover, your world will have become bigger!
