Thinking About… Habit

Posted by on August 31, 2011 at 6:57 pm

If the quality of your life is a reflection of your choices, how do you choose? Without mindful and clear intention, habit is the relentless force that ensures who we were defines the limitations of who we might become.

Thinking About… Life Changes

Posted by on August 24, 2011 at 4:06 pm

If life as I know it disappears, does that mean I do, too? In the space that now presents, I can seek to redefine, redesign and reclaim; I can let go and drift, flowing effortlessly where I am taken, wherever that may be; or I can awaken to sights and sounds never before discerned. Whatever I choose, it will set a direction for a destination along the road of my own evolution. Perhaps I would be wise to notice that whatever my state of the moment, mindfulness is the key.

Thinking About… Context

Posted by on August 22, 2011 at 9:28 am

All meaning is context dependent. As I lose sight of the larger intention/context for my presence, I lose my ability to move meaningfully and effectively through the day-to-day demands of being human.

Thinking About… Illness

Posted by on August 18, 2011 at 3:24 pm

>Think of any tissue disruption as a direct communication from your body. The body is the last frontier. Whatever you’re experiencing is the degree.. the measure… to which your body must go to get your attention! Want to be well? Make it easier: listen better and sooner! Pay attention to your own internal cues so that your body need not destroy itself to be heard.

Thinking About… Rhythms

Posted by on August 17, 2011 at 11:47 am

I am beginning to notice the multiple and interconnected rhythms of my life. Breathing in… breathing out. Sleeping… waking. Discovering… expressing. Each of these a sliver of the full expression of the I AM that I am, as my life expands and contracts. There is great comfort in that; in knowing and trusting that no matter where I stand, I am in the right place.

Pain Management and Alternative Thinking

Posted by on August 8, 2011 at 8:47 am

In early August, The Ottawa Citizen ran a piece that addressed the challenges created by those seeking help in managing pain being faced with the current shortage of doctors with the skills to assist.  Familiar to many, this struggle lends itself to the emergence of a sense of helplessness, hopelessness and despair; which in turn, create an internal state that only serves to make the problem worse!

As we continue to evolve into the new thinking and approaches that are becoming accessible as a result of the rapidly-increasing access to the potential of the quantum sciences, we begin to discover that we can indeed, heal ourselves.

Hundreds have already found their way to these two Episodes from Reclaiming Your Self: Women Unedited and Engaged.  Hosted by Louise LeBrun in conversation with Anita Allen, these explorations offer new ways to mindfully consider the experiences of pain and illness, from an internally referenced perspective.  The conclusion leads to making way for hope where none was left; and the practical journey from potential to results.

If you or someone you love is faced with the challenge of managing pain, consider a different perspective and see where it leads!  You may be surprised by your own insights and discoveries… and the changes that become possible.

Thinking About …   Doubt

Posted by on August 3, 2011 at 11:17 pm

When in doubt:   Stop,  take a breath…  and exhale into letting go.   Rather than seeking,  allow yourself to be found by the next wave of your own evolution.

Living Life with an Edge

Posted by on

In a recent CODE Model Coaching™ session with a young woman seeking to redesign her life, we got into an exploration of what it takes to do just that.  We concluded that the start point is to redefine yourSelf!

With that in mind, I share with you the article (below) on Living Life With an Edge.  Our edges make us visible – to ourselves and others – and therein lies the double-edged sword:  how to be seen to get what we what we want while avoiding being seen to be accountable for what we create.

May it cause you to pause… and reconsider… the edges that define the truth of who you know yourSelf to be.

Living Life with an Edge

It is our edges that define us. Without edges, we would not be recognizable as different or distinct from our environments. Without edges, we would blend in to our surroundings … disappear … become part of something else and no longer be who we are.

It is the edges of things … a picture, an apple, a car … that allow things to be separate, one thing from another; that allow for individuation. Without edges, there is only one thing, with all else having been subsumed by that mass.

It is also the edges of things that cause them to stand alone. It is the edges that say this is one, and this is another. It is the edges that allow us to stand out in a pack; to be seen as NOT something else, even if seen as part of a larger whole.

Have you lost your edge? Are you drifting – undistinguishable – in a sea of the undistinguished? Are you disappearing?”

Thinking About… Resistance

Posted by on August 2, 2011 at 3:06 pm

Does it really matter whether I choose to remove myself from my day-to-day experience; or that I find myself having been removed by something else? How I am launched is irrelevant – what matters is that I embrace the pause and recognize it for the invitation that it is into the fecund Space of my own curiosity. From that, Movement becomes possible… and the insights and discoveries Flow to allow a new ‘reality’ to unfold!
