The Power of One To Reframe Addiction

Day 2  ~  10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

  • How can we make a difference by ‘being’ the difference that we are?
  • If we consider one definition of “crazy making” as “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”, what becomes possible about addictions when we begin to change the way we think about and talk about addiction, with each other?
  • How far can we press the boundaries on old and long-held beliefs, values, and attitudes in the world of addictions that may well have become part of the problem?

In this experiential workshop, you’ll be invited:

  • to consider a revolutionary new context in which to view all things “addiction”, as it relates to you as an individual, family member or as a worker in “the field”;
  • to explore simple yet revolutionary models for understanding the human being in a completely new context;
  • to consider your experiences through a different lens than that of the allopathic and therapy models of the world; and
  • to play!

Whether you’re an interested individual, addictions worker, family member or “client”, this seminar will offer you innovative and ground-breaking processes based in the WEL-Systems® perspective, to expand your present day conversations about “addiction”.

Participants will discover:

  • how they can apply the unique concepts and simple models from this new perspective to themselves, and then to facilitating real and generative change within their communities;
  • concepts such as The Circle of Reality; the Androgynous Baby™ and Signals Dancing™, models that provide for a new and, quite often, more useful perspective for considering how to understand and create change within our selves, and human behavior in general;
  • that the measure of their “success” in creating change in their families, communities, workplace or themselves may not depend so much on the program they choose to implement, as much as the “relationships” that are forged between themselves and those with whom they have conversations.

We already know that when we do not allow for “different” or “new” thoughts, we are bound to repeat our past. Too many times, too many people across the country have said that they continue doing what they’re doing because that’s all that has ever been done; or it’s all that was ever available to them. Have you ever caught yourself thinking that you’re doing something different and innovative, only to discover that you’re repeating the same patterns, only harder and faster than before? Governments, bureaucracies, and other well-meaning systems do it all the time! Many times we unwittingly end up with similar poor results and having our own health affected in the process. Only when we consider really being different, can we expect a different result!

If you’re looking for an innovative and inspiring conversation about an age-old problem; and if you want to discover how you can be the difference that makes a difference, in your life and that of other people, then join us for a day you’ll never forget!
